100 Word Flash: Magical Meadow

Magical Meadow

At first sight, I felt drawn to the rainbow as a moth to the flame. Compelled I walked until I’ve reached a lovely meadow, there I saw not one but two. The place had a magical aura that bathed me in sunlight.

I now understood the stories about pots of gold, leprechauns, and wishes linked to rainbows. I closed my eyes, spread my arms, and twirled like a kid. When I stopped, the most beautiful man I’d ever seen stepped into my arms. Instant recognition carnal, and no words needed in this magical place. Who said wishes don’t come true?

I’m startled by the jarring sound of my clock.
“Damn!”

  5. What a rude awakening, so to speak. But I love your story, the almost fairy-tale like quality to it. Mine is here: http://readinpleasure.wordpress.com/2012/05/18/friday-fictioneers-sinking-low/
